Cone Beam CAT Scan (CBCT) is one of the greatest technological advancements that dentistry has seen. This 3-D digital scan creates multiple images that enable your dentist to diagnostically examine your teeth, soft tissue, nerve pathways, and bone. The information from these images can be utilized for planning dental implant placement as well as detecting infections, such as osteonecrosis or cavitation (holes in the jawbone), and other oral pathology.

How It Works: described above

What It Feels Like: N/A

What Symptoms/Systems It’s Good For: Everything in dental health! We use CBCT for almost all new patients, as it allows our dentists to see any leakage from root canals or previous dental treatments, as well as difficult-to-detect infections. The treatment is also used to detect bone density for precision dental implant placements. The scan can detect abnormalities (ex. stones in glands, cysts) and potential hidden infections in the sinus.

How Long Does The Treatment Take?: About a minute.
